Microblading

  • Please read the following and follow as closely as possible.


    Overview

    Microblading procedure normally requires multiple treatment sessions. For the best results, clients will be required to return for at least one re-touch appointment. This will take place 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure. Those with oily skin may require an additional touch up.


    Please be aware that color intensity will be significantly darker immediately after the first session and a few days after the initial procedure, but the color will reduce by 30-40% the 7 days following the procedure.


    Although numbing cream is used during the procedure, sensitivity or discomfort may still be felt. Skin may be red and/or swollen after the procedure. This will disappear in about 20 minutes after the procedure is finished.

    • You may wear your normal make up on the day of your procedure

    • Please do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to the treatment

    • Please avoid any blood thinners prior to the appointment ( if permitted by your doctor)

    • Please do not shape or wax your brows before the procedure. Your technician will shape brows during the procedure

    • No electrolysis for at least 5 days before the procedure

    • Botox, AHA products and retinoids should be avoided for 2 weeks prior to the procedure

    • Exfoliating treatments such as microdermabrasion should not be performed within 2 weeks prior to procedure

    • Chemical and laser peels should be avoided at least 4 weeks prior to procedure

    • Patients prone to cold sores/fever blisters should take an anti-viral prior to treatment

    • Hormone therapies can affect pigmentation and/or cause sensitivity

    • Avoid tanning 7 days prior to the procedure


    Topical Anesthetic Advice


    Numbness and discomfort we cannot accept responsibility if the area to be treated does not respond to the numbing cream. Each individual is different according to skin type. Some clients report the area to be completely numb, while others may experience some discomfort.


    Avoid permanent makeup if you have the following 

    • Liver disease - high risk of infection

    • Pregnancy/Nursing

    • Comprised skin near brow area

    • Currently undergoing Chemotherapy/Radiation

  • Please read the following and follow as closely as possible.

    Please follow these instructions for 7-10 days after the procedure to improve and prolong the results of your pmu/cosmetic tattoo. 


    If you don’t follow these instructions, it can greatly affect your pmu/cosmetic tattoo results!


    You will be given a take home Aquaphor product that will be applied to the treated area 3-4 times a day.


    This ointment will be used to keep the treated area hydrated, during the healing process. ( 7-10 days)


    You may blot for the first few hours with a clean and damp paper towel to remove any excess fluids, if necessary.


    NOTE** 

    * Brows will be darker 24 hours following the procedure. 

    * This color will fade 30-40% during the next 7-10 days 


    Cleansing:

    Pmu/cosmetic tattoo post-care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your new eyebrows. 

    • Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 24-48 hours following the procedure.

    • During the healing process you may take a damp paper towel to lightly clean the area.

    • After 24-48 hours you may shower and wash your face. 

    • During this time ^ avoid direct water pressure on the treated area. 

    • Soaps and lotions may be used on the face, but avoid any of these products on or near the treated area for at least 7-10 days. 

    • Please continue to apply the ointment given to you for 7 days following the procedure.


    During the healing process if you my find yourself outside or in a sunny area wear large sunglasses or a hat to cover/shade the treated area.

    The following must be avoided during 7- 14 days post- procedure:

    • Increased sweating

    • Practicing sports

    • Swimming

    • Hot sauna, hot yoga, hot bath, Jacuzzi, and refrain from swimming in saltwater or chlorinated pools for 14 days

    • Sun tanning or salon tanning

    • UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading

    • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the face or neck

    • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the micro pigmented area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

    • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

    • No makeup should be applied directly on the brow during the healing process

    • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

    • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles

    • Touching of the eyebrow area except for when rinsing and applying the post-care cream with a cotton swab

    • Give at least 14 days after the procedure for any facial treatment including peels.

    • If you are due to give blood after the procedure, please inform your nurse about the treatment you have had as this might alter the results.

    Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting a lot of water on the treated area. During the shower, keep your face away from the showerhead or take a bath.


    Itching and flaking may appear during the first seven days post- procedure. However, experience has shown that by following these after-care instructions, these symptoms may quickly disappear.


    If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact the service provider immediately via phone or email , to discuss further instructions.

    Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature or any colored discharge from the treated area.

General Facial

    • Avoid direct sunlight for at least 72 hours and ALWAYS wear SPF 30 or higher, reapplying every 2 hours.

    • Do not touch your face with dirty hands.

    • Avoid extreme heat, sweating and working out for 48-72 hours.

    • Do not use any scrubs or harsh exfoliants for 3 days - 2 weeks depending on the nature of your treatment.

    • Do not apply make-up for 48 hours.

    • Replace your pillowcases with fresh & clean ones!

    • Do not wax your face for at least 5 days after treatment!

    • Follow your home-care regimen and use your at-home products consistently! This contributes to 80% of your results.

    • Pre-book your follow-up appointments every 4 weeks to maintain your results and reach your skincare goals.

Procell Microchanneling

    1. If you have a history of cold sores, please contact your doctor for anti-viral medication, starting 2 days prior to your treatment, if you would like your lips treated the day of appointment.

    2. Discontinue retinol (2% or higher) or tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.

    3. For your first treatment, (and treatments at .25mm in general) numbing cream is typically not necessary, and you can expect mild redness and swelling, and a tight, warm sensation between 4- 24 hours.

    4. Later treatments with longer needle lengths may require topical numbing cream, and can produce redness and swelling along with tiny flecks of redness between 4-72 hours.

    5. If you are being treated for hair loss, please arrive at the office with the shortest haircut possible and clean hair. Please do not apply sprays or gels.

    6. If possible, please arrive at the office without makeup on, and with a clean, (and for men a clean-shaven) face.

    7. If you’ve had Botox, Fillers, or Threads injected you must wait at least two weeks before getting microchanneling. And you must be satisfied with the results before we can offer you any other treatments.

  • What to expect: Your skin may appear pink or red. This should also subside in 24-72 hours. Your skin may also feel warm, tight and/or itchy. You may experience mild flaking and possibly some soreness, similar to the feeling of a sunburn. Please note that this natural inflammatory process in the skin is necessary to start rejuvenation and healing while rebuilding lost collagen.


    1. If you are given a mask, keep it on for at least 10 minutes the evening of your appointment.

    2. Preferably no other products are applied until the following day.

    3. DO NOT exercise, work up a sweat, visit a sauna or steam room, or engage in any general activity that may raise your body temperature or cause you to sweat. Avoid these kinds of activities for 3 DAYS after treatment.

    4. Avoid exposure to pet dander and other irritants as best you can. You may experience a mild allergic reaction to pets and other things you typically do not react to within the first 24 hours.

    5. Your skin may feel hot and tight, like a mild sunburn. Moisturize often, and you may apply a cool damp washcloth as desired. This feeling may last up to 72 hours.

    6. For your first treatment, (and treatments at .25mm in general) you can expect mild redness and swelling, and a tight, warm sensation for between 4-24 hours.

    7. Later treatments, or those with longer needle lengths may produce redness and swelling along with tiny flecks of redness for between 4-72 hours.

    8. Mild skin sloughing (flaking or peeling) may occur for a few days after treatment.

    9. Mild acne and milia can occur in rare cases. Don’t pick and they’ll go away in a few days.

    10. TransEpidermal Water Loss is a common temporary side effect and could leave you feeling dry through the first week. Keep the recommended moisturizer with you during the day and apply as frequently as necessary to avoid a dry sensation. The more you moisturize the better your results will be.

    11. Beginning the following morning; apply the Cellular Renewal Serum and Healing Accelerator separately to enhance results. (Cleanse and apply 1-3 pumps). Apply daily, morning and evening.

    12. Return for a follow-up treatment in 4-6 weeks or as recommended.

    DO:

    • Keep the area clean with a gentle cleanser and tepid water every morning and night. Cleanse with your fingertips only.

    • Moisturize your skin every morning and night to decrease itchiness and tightness

    • Resist the urge to itch and pick at your skin

    • You may use a painkiller like Tylenol if you experience any soreness. (NO Ibuprofen)

    • It is recommended that you use clean pillowcases following your treatment

    • Use SPF 30+ daily and reapply every 2 hours. SPF should be used even on days where you are not in direct sunlight, such as driving in a car or sitting near a window for long periods of time. UVA/UVB rays from the sun are the leading cause of skin damage and premature aging.

    • Book a follow-up appointment 4 weeks later to discuss results and further treatment goals with your esthetician.

    DON’T:

    • No direct sun exposure for 1-2 weeks

    • Do not use any products on your skin such as scrubs, cleansing brushes, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acids, Retinols, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide or topical treatments for 1 week.

    • Do not peel or pick at flaking skin

    • Avoid using ice or arnica/bromelain on the skin as this can interfere with the natural inflammatory process that’s critical for your skins rejuvenation

    • Avoid makeup on the area for 5 days

    • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, workouts and excessive sweating and any other high temperatures for 1 week.

    • Avoid chlorine and other harsh chemicals

    • Do not use tanning beds

    • Do not wax the face for 2 weeks

    • Do not undergo any other exfoliating treatments for 4 weeks

Chemical Peels

  • What to expect: Most chemical peels require down time, as your skin can experience flaking and shedding. It is important to schedule your treatment with enough time to allow yourself to heal before resuming normal activities. Immediately after your treatment, you may experience some redness or frosting. The redness should subside within 24 hours and the frosting is simply a sign that the peel was effective. 48-72 hours after your treatment, you may notice that your skin is tight, dry, itchy and may appear darker. This is normal, and it’s an indication of the top layer of your skin preparing to shed away. Flaking usually begins around the mouth, nose and eyes first, then moves towards the perimeter of the face. Peeling can last anywhere from 3-12 days depending on the individual.

     

    DO:

    • Be gentle with your new skin!

    • Keep the area clean with tepid water, a gentle cleanser and moisturizer  only for the first 72 hours, every morning and night. Cleanse with your fingertips only.

    • Moisturize your skin every morning and night to decrease itchiness and tightness

    • Resist the urge to itch and pick at your skin.

    • It is recommended that you use clean pillowcases following your treatment.

    • Use SPF 30+ daily and reapply every 2 hours. SPF should be used even on days where you are not in direct sunlight, such as driving in a car or sitting near a window for long periods of time. UVA/UVB rays from the sun are the leading cause of skin damage and premature aging.

    • Book a follow up appointment 4 weeks later to discuss results and further treatment goals with your esthetician.

     

    DON’T:

    • No direct sun exposure for 2 weeks

    • Do not use any exfoliating products on your skin such as scrubs, cleansing brushes, Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acids, glycolic acid, benzoyl peroxide or topical treatments for 2 weeks

    • Do not manually peel or pick at the dead skin with your fingers. Allow the skin to shed naturally!

    • Avoid makeup on the area until peeling has completed

    • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, workouts and excessive sweating and any other high temperatures for 2 weeks as irritation, breakouts or heat blisters may occur

    • Avoid chlorine and other harsh chemicals

    • Do not use tanning beds

    • Acidic foods can irritate the skin around the mouth when eaten

    • Do not wax the face for 3 weeks

    • Do not undergo any other exfoliating treatments for 4 weeks

Dermaplaning

  • What to expect: After receiving a dermaplaning treatment, your skin may be more sensitive since an entirely new layer of skin has been revealed. Redness in the skin is normal and should be gone within 24 hours of your treatment. Your skin will also be more susceptible to breakouts, so you must keep your skin as clean as possible.

     

    DO:

    • Keep the area clean with tepid water and a gentle cleanser for the first 72 hours, every morning and night. Cleanse with your fingertips only.

    • Moisturize your skin every morning and night to avoid flaking and tightness.

    • It is recommended that you use clean pillowcases following your treatment

    • Use SPF 30+ daily and reapply every 2 hours. SPF should be used even on days where you are not in direct sunlight, such as driving in a car or sitting near a window for long periods of time. UVA/UVB rays from the sun are the leading cause of skin damage and premature aging.

    • Book a follow up appointment 4 weeks later to discuss results and further treatment goals with your esthetician.

    • Do not use tanning beds

    • Do not wax the face for 2 weeks

    • High temperatures can result in burns to the skin and/or heat blisters

    • Do not undergo any other exfoliating treatments for 4 weeks
